Welcome to our Coffee Chat series, where we get to know the “Logicians” who make Logic20/20 a great place to work. Today, we’re sitting down with Ross Mesnick, a Senior Consultant based in Long Island, New York. Grab your favorite beverage, pull up a chair, and join us!

Tell us a little about your career journey before joining Logic20/20.

I came from a Big Four consulting firm, where I worked with clients in the power and utilities space. My work focused on system planning, implementation, and helping clients through major OT and IT upgrades. It was a valuable experience, but I was looking for a role where I could have a bigger impact, and I found that opportunity here.

What inspired you to make the move?

In larger firms like the one I came from, it can feel like your ability to make a difference depends more on internal networking than on actual performance. It can be tough to find stability or have a sense of ownership over your work. There are also more layers of process, which made it hard to act on new ideas or drive improvements.

One of the biggest draws to Logic20/20 was the chance to make a meaningful difference. When I joined, I was one of just a few people in our growing Grid Operations practice. Now we’ve tripled in size. Being part of that growth—and helping shape how we operate—has been really rewarding. I also appreciated moving from a global organization, where it was easy to feel like just a number, to a place where my individual contributions are valued.

Looking back on your time so far with Logic, what are you most proud of?

A specific client project comes to mind. When my team and I started, we were coming in after another consulting firm had left the client dissatisfied. We had to rebuild trust and show what we were capable of. That early success helped us win multiple follow-on engagements, and now we have a larger team embedded with that client. It’s been a great example of how hard work and quality delivery lead to long-term relationships.

What do you appreciate most about your experience as a Logician?

The support. It’s clear that everyone here wants each other to succeed, and that shows up in the way we collaborate. I know I can count on my team, and my leaders are invested in helping me grow—not just as a consultant, but as a person.

What opportunities for professional growth have you encountered since joining Logic20/20?

I’ve been able to get involved in business development and contribute to cross-practice initiatives that shape how we work—like formalizing the Career Development Lead (CDL) program and building a strategy for nearshore and offshore resourcing. These are strategic, high-impact projects I wouldn’t have had access to elsewhere.

What does a typical day look like for you?

I’m based in the Eastern time zone, where I work a fairly standard schedule. My day typically includes a morning touchpoint with my workstream team, client meetings throughout the day, and internal work tied to our company initiatives. Every day is a mix—some days are meeting-heavy, while others are more heads-down. My team usually wraps up our day with a sync to align on what’s next.

Which of Logic20/20’s values resonate with you most?

Two in particular stand out: Drive Toward Excellence and Foster a Culture of We. I bring my best to everything I do, whether it’s client-facing work or internal collaboration, and so do my colleagues. And the teamwork here is something I really value—everyone has each other’s back, and that sense of shared ownership makes a huge difference.

What do you enjoy doing on Long Island when you’re not working?

I recently moved back to Long Island after a couple of years in New York City. One of my favorite things is just spending time outdoors—especially hanging out by the pool in the warmer months. I didn’t realize how much I missed that suburban lifestyle until I came back after having been away.

And, finally, how do you take your coffee?

Usually with milk or flavored creamer—never black, never with sugar. Sometimes iced, sometimes hot, depending on the weather.

We’re grateful to Ross for sharing his career journey and perspective. His story reflects the impact of meaningful work, strong team support, and opportunities to grow—and offers a compelling look into what makes life at Logic20/20 so rewarding.
