A recent DERMS engagement with a South Atlantic utility illustrates the scope of coordination required. The utility sought to integrate distributed energy resources (DERs) into its generation portfolio so storage and other flexible resources could participate alongside traditional generation assets.
Logic20/20 worked with the utility to define a DERMS control philosophy and future-state roadmap covering the operating model, decision logic, and phased implementation priorities. The work extended into operator workflows across five areas:

The engagement also required coordination across multiple vendors and systems, including energy trading tools, optimization engines, and the EMS, DERMS, and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.
